East is a short film produced by The Night Institute in collaboration with NIGHTSTAFF & Kevin Gartland.
Shot during the Covid pandemic and capturing the voices of creatives from all walks of life, who have made East Belfast their home. Mushroom-growers, musicians, skate crews and artists have fallen in love with the general attitude and opportunities within the area.
The short film also pays respect to some of the faces of the people who have dedicated a huge part of their lives to give this part of the city its unique character.
